About Bajaj

Bajaj Auto History: Bajaj Auto was established in 1945. In the beginning, Bajaj used to sell Piaggio branded scooters in India, before it ultimately acquired the manufacturing license and started manufacturing its own two-wheelers. Over the years, Bajaj has tied up with brands like Piaggio, Kawasaki, KTM, and even Daimler Benz for three-wheelers. It’s latest and ongoing joint ventures are with KTM and Triumph. While we’ve already seen KTM’s extensive lineup in India, the Bajaj-Triumph venture is expected to bear fruit in Triumph’s first entry-level motorcycle soon.

Along with all this, Bajaj has put its joint ventures to full use, using KTM’s engine technologies to up the game of the Pulsar lineup. The Dominar 400, Pulsar NS200, and the Dominar 250 are all living examples of this. Not to forget, Bajaj also recently launched its biggest Pulsars, the N250 and F250, in India.

Product Portfolio: Naked Bikes: Bajaj’s lineup is filled to the brim with naked motorcycles. This list includes the Pulsars and the Dominars. While the latter is Bajaj’s self-built highest-selling bikes for a long time, the Dominar 400 and 250 use KTM-derived engines. One of the most famous naked bikes by Bajaj is the Pulsar NS200, which still offers unmatched raw performance.

Faired Bikes: With the nakeds, Bajaj also has a couple of faired bikes in its stable. These are the half-faired Pulsar F250 and Pulsar 220F as well as the full-faired Pulsar RS 200.

Cruiser Bikes: Bajaj’s cruiser lineup consists of the Avenger Street 160 and the Avenger 220. Both are modern-day derivations of the iconic Bajaj Avenger unveiled years ago. Over the years, the Avengers have gained modern features and make more power.

Commuter Bikes: Bajaj also has a few commuter bikes in its portfolio. These include the Platina 100, the Platina 110, the CT 110, and the CT 100. In their latest incarnation, the Platina and CT have both received aesthetic updates which help them look more up-market than your regular commuters.

Electric Scooters: Lastly, the Chetak. The only EV in Bajaj’s portfolio is the Chetak. It was one of the first EVs in India and is due an update to keep up with its modern rivals. And that’s exactly what Bajaj is planning to do in the coming future.

Greatest Hits:

Bajaj Chetak: One of the most iconic scooters in the 2-stroke era

Bajaj Pulsar 180: Definitely male, enough said.

Bajaj Pulsar 220 F: A game-changer and flagship for the Pulsar lineup

Bajaj CT100: India’s most fuel efficient motorcycle

Bajaj Dominar 400: The most affordable 400cc bike in India

Future Prospect: Bajaj has some interesting plans in the coming future. These include updated Pulsars based on the Pulsar F250 and N250, electric scooters for Husqvarna and KTM, and the Triumph-Bajaj venture, which could birth a sub-500cc Triumph bike for the entry-level segment.
